"Rock, Pillow, Feathers; Nesting Options" reveals beautiful patterns and function of birds that flourish without traditional nests - specifically ground-nesting birds. It offers an opportunity to reflect on wall-less living and to marvel at connected and disparate mysteries of nature and humanity. "Nesting Options" contrasts the hardness of a rock-lined nest with the soft danger of a conspicuous pillow.
Two classic crayon drawings on stone are printed in sage and dark brown inks respectively onto sekishu tissue and red feather fragments, chin collé on Arches cotton cover h15 x w11 inches. Red feather fragments are chin collé before brown is printed.
