waking sleepy docks
The view is from my lakeside studio deck, facing west along the shore. I painted it on the second day of a self-challenge of fifty days of painting in March/April 2018. To read more about the fifty days of painting and to see a video of the lake and sunlight that day (the inspiration),

While quiet now, in the summer those docks are bustling with an enthusiastic crowd who gather to enjoy the lake. I call it “the floating village” in the summer season. A more complete title for this artwork would be “The Floating Village is Quiet in Spring.”
This watercolor is painted on Arches natural cotton cover.
