Snow on the distant horizon (volcano) is visible from the lake on a very clear New Year's Day.

The Christmas Rose (helleborus) blooms outdoors in winter. With no snow, the white helleborus flower is as close to a "White Christmas" as we had here.

It was a beautiful day to select trees with the family.

My twin nephews picked out a beautiful noble fir at the farm.

Someone attached a small, lighted tree to a half-submerged log. Nice idea, but I think the wind tipped it.
