On Saturday, January 25, 2014, I enjoyed demonstrating dye-painting of silk in the serti method in Spanaway. 

I was impressed with the scale of the event. Art displays by students from every school in the district filled Spanaway High School's big gymnasium. The brand new entry area was filled with technology displays by students, community groups, and vendors. There was even a full-size jet engine on display outside, and the robotics arena drew crowds to watch the robots perform.

In demonstrating dye-painting of silk, I created two beautiful scarves, one of roses and another of salmon in a stream. Here are photos of the works in progress.
